In February 2018, the biggest win ever for Eurojackpot lottery occurred in Finland. After waiting for three months, the ticketholders who won revealed themselves.
The individuals who won Finland’s most significant Eurojackpot lottery of 90 million euros have picked their prize. It ended rumors that have circulated for months about whether the owners of the tickets would be traced.
Veikkaus, a gambling firm owned by the state verified that the winning number sequence, which broke the record was bought in February in the southwest city of Loimaa. However, the ticketholders who won did not come forward immediately.
Now according to Veikkaus, the winners have picked their prize but do not want to go public.
Tanja Raika, the sales manager of Prisma states that news spread among the customers, and the personnel of the Loimaa supermarket immediately Veikkaus made the declaration.
According to her, the predominant feeling in the store was joy that the cash would, in the end, come to Finland.
‘We began to think that perhaps a dog had eaten the tickets. However, it is wonderful news to know that the entire time they have remained intact,’ she remarks.
But, she said that the request by the winners to have their identity concealed might be hard. Loimaa only has 16,000 or more residents and any person whose bank account has an additional 18 million euros will possibly attract a bit of attention.
‘The Loimaa community is very small. I am certain everyone is going to be checking the driveway of their neighbors to check whether a new vehicle appears out of the blue,’ said Raika laughing.
